Top 5 Best Movies Adapted from Stephen King Books

Stephen King is one of my favorite authors. If you enjoy creepy or scary things, he may be one of your favorites as well! He is a spooky genius! Not only do his books give me the chills, but the movies adapted from his books are sometimes even spookier. Here are my favorites! Comment below and tell me what your favorites are!

1. Misery
Misery will always be a favorite no matter what. Kathy Bates has always, in my opinion, had this strong and kind of scary attitude in the characters she plays. When you put her in a scary movie, she almost always portrays it perfectly. Even though the book was beautifully written, the movie is what gives me the chills. Stephen King always does a great job of keeping the story interesting, even though the setting stays in almost one place the entire book. It’s almost panicking thinking about being trapped in a house with Kathy Bates who is obsessed with you.

2. the Shining
This is an obvious choice, but it’s SO good! I can’t imagine anyone else being Jack besides Jack Nicholson. The Shining is one of the biggest Stephen King movies ever. Almost everyone knows about it, even if they haven’t seen it. If you’re a true CREEPSTER then you have to know this movie. “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

3. Children of the Corn
This movie is definitely not as good as the book, but it’s still pretty creepy. This is a film that will make you look at your kids or siblings differently. Just don’t leave any knives or poison lying around *wink, wink* The movie, overall, kind of gets boring in the middle parts, but Malachai is creepy AF. Not to mention, Isaac just looks creepy so it kind of has a good scary vibe to it. Let’s just hope you aren’t surrounded by cornfields (unfortunately, I am).

4. Carrie
This is another one of my own personal favorites. I love Carrie! I especially love the fact that Stephen King based this off of two students while teaching in Maine. This may sound super cheesy, but I think it gives a good message not to screw with those that don’t fit in. You never know what they are capable of doing.

5. Pet Sematary
Even though the special effects and quality of the film are a little old, it’s still a great film. The movie really makes you stop and think. This movie will always be a good movie, because of how the book was portrayed. Also, please watch your kids and don’t let them wander out onto a highway and get smashed by a semi-truck.
